22K Log conductive plastic pot
I am looking for a UK source of a 22K or 25K log panel mounting conductive plastic or cermet pot. I have checked Farnell, RS, Rapid and Maplin to no avail. Cheers Ian

A strange PIC problem
I was writing a driver for a graphics LCD for PIC 18F14K22. That went OK: [link] But I wrote it is asm, so it needed a lot of typing, even more so because this display CD-19-HG1286418C has a strange driver chip S6B0108 that comes from a planet where x is vertical and y horizontal,... more »

Let's design a fake Perpetual Motion machine
I was thinking about all the fringe-science "Magnet Motors" and found myself reasoning thus: suppose there's a way to power a flywheel by slowly demagnetizing some permanent magnets. Wipe out the magnets' stored energy, and inject it as KE into the flywheel. If possible, this would explain a large number of bizarre PM claims, since every so... more »

Quad LVDS to LVPECL?
Does such a chip exist? I can't find it. MAX9375 or PTN3310 = Single LVDS to LVPECL tb5d1m = Quad LVTTL to LVPECL MC10H352-D = Quad CMOS to PECL sn65lvelt22 = Dual LVTTL to LVPECL MC100EPT622-D (obsolete) = 10-bit LVTTL to single-ended LVPECL and I only want single-ended LVPECL to drive 4 data inputs on a MC100EP142... more »

Earthed PSU question
I`ve been struggling with this for quite some time and hope someone may be able to point out the pros and cons: Imaging a situation where I`m designing a new product and I need to select an external ACąDC switch mode PSU with a very standard barrel connection output. The product is a metal case, with chassis connected... more »

Prototyping Area
I have a demo board with some Prototyping Area. Is there a way to use this effectively without soldering? e.g., are there breadboard like connectors you can add to them(even solder if necessary)?

Bloom Energy Servers
I caught the piece on 60 Minutes about Bloom Energy, and just know watched the videos on the Bloom energy website. They now have many units in the field that are providing power to specific office buildings although I don't see anyone talk about 100% powered by the Bloom energy Servers. These are run from natural gas as well as... more »
